The following approximate costs are based on the current legal requirements under Part 61 from the Civil Aviation Authority
Civil Aviation Authority requires: 200 hours Total flight time
This can be broken down into: 100 hours Pilot in Command 30 hours Cross Country training 10 hours Instrument flight time
The above hours include those gained in PPL training. To obtain a Commercial Pilot Licence there are additional costs involved which include the following approximations:
The cost for a CPL will vary considerably between students due to the different types of aircraft flown. From our experience we estimate that it will cost an additional $26,000 to obtain a CPL. With the Auckland Aero Club we estimate your total training cost to Commercial Pilot level should not exceed $37,000.
