Commercial Pilots Licence

MULTI INSTRUMENT RATING

The only requirement for an Instrument Rating is a Private Pilot Licence, but most people complete it as an added rating to the Commercial Pilot Licence.

An airline career in aviation will require this rating as all scheduled airlines fly under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR).

You can do a single engine instrument rating if your requirement as a pilot is not professional.  This rating will allow you to fly in adverse weather and through clouds, day and night.

There is also the added challenge of obtaining a multi-engine rating, allowing you to fly Twin Engine Aircraft which carry more people, further and faster.

At the Auckland Aero Club, we utilise several types of Multi-Engine Aircraft for our training purposes.
