Arguably the pinnacle of recreational flying is having the knowledge and skill to be able to perform aerobatic manoeuvres. Imagine taking your friends in an aeroplane and show them loops, rolls and stall turns. A Pilot with a Private Pilots Licence can achieve an Aerobatic Rating by completing an Aerobatics Ground Course and a Flight Training Course which includes five to ten hours of flight time. As well as owning two Aerobatic aircraft the Auckland Aero Club has access to more advanced aircraft for those wishing to advance their aerobatic flying. Competitive Aerobatics is available at both the RNZAC and Aerobatic Club competitions. The Auckland Aero Club counts amongst its membership some of the top Aerobatic pilots in the country.
